The replacement battery cover which is included has a ridge that fits into a groove on the jointed bracket which also swivels for positioning. Keeps unit secure yet detaches in seconds. The base is secured by three screws, the rest of the mount swivels on that base and can be locked in position by tightening the central knob.

The GPS can be tilted or swivelled for optimum viewing and can be secured firmly in position by tightening the side knobs. If required, the top portions of the mount can be removed, leaving just the circular base screwed in position.

Note: Base components from the Universal Friction Mount Adapter Kit or the Universal Adhesive Mount Adapter Kit can be used with the eTrex Marine Mount bracket to provide temporary bean-bag or secure adhesive mounting. No need to buy two brackets!
