Spectrum Digital Imaging digitized topographic maps are scans of Federal topo maps that have already been calibrated to work with Ozi Explorer Moving Map Software. The maps are in .png format, 150 DPI and 8 bit colour. The images are sharp, same scale as the original paper map, cropped, and touched up to remove imperfections from scanning. SDI maps are produced from the most recently available National Topographic System map sheets (click here to check on information about NTS map sheets).

Mapping Software Compatibility Q: "Can SDI maps be used with any other mapping software apart from OziExplorer?" A: "Yes SDI maps can be used with any mapping software that will read a .png file, but only the calibrations for Oziexplorer are included." Q: "Can SDI maps be used on a Mac?" A: "MacGPS Pro (www.macgpspro.com) is is programmed to auto-calibrate SDI maps. GPSy (www.gpsy.com) can also use SDI maps. All SDI map CDROMs have the program Xnview which will batch convert all the images to .tiff, bmp or jpeg format which GPSy will read. Users will have to calibrate the maps using the datum and projection on the lower left corner of our maps".

Trial Downloads OziExplorer 1. Right click on Ozi Trial and click Save Target As. 2. Unzip all files into one folder and click on OziTrial.exe to run the program. To view in OziExplorer, open the program and go to the taskbar and click on Load/Load Map File. Select one of the maps you downloaded, click Open. For instructions on OziExplorer press F1 or click on Help on the taskbar.
