Otto
is a portable road safety device using GPS technology to
provide you with instant information about your driving
environment. |
What
is Otto?
Otto is a portable device that fits in the palm of your hand. Using GPS technology, Otto can calculate the speed and location of your vehicle. Since Otto comes pre-loaded with a map of your coverage area, it can use this information to help you drive safely, and even helps you prevent traffic tickets. When your vehicle exceeds the posted speed limit, or when you approach a potentially hazardous location, Otto will alert you through a voice prompt and an indicator light. This information translates into timely alerts that are intended to offer you greater personal safety.
Otto is also a “black box” recording device, and records where the vehicle was driven and velocity data for each trip. This information can be used to keep track of vehicle use, either for business purposes or for personal interest.

Otto
reinforces good driving behaviour and benefits the driver through
a savings in fines, crashes, insurance premiums, increased license
fees, and in reducing stress and road rage.
Where
does Otto operate?
Otto comes pre-loaded with your municipality, so if you buy it in your area, it will be ready to use. Additionally, through a yearly subscription program, you can take Otto wherever you drive. When you are subscribed to the "map roaming service", coverage areas other than your home can be downloaded to your Otto via the easy-to-use myOtto configuration website.
