basemap, the GPSMAP 232 is fully compatible with GARMIN's
BlueChart marine cartography
and many MapSourceT CD-ROM
products. Map detail is loaded into data
cards, up to 128MB.
The
display can be set to Land Mode or Water Mode for optimal viewing
in boat or automobile. Detailed marine cartography and land-based
maps are presented on a 15.5 cm x 10.5 cm (6" x 4"),
high resolution (240 x 360 pixels), 10-level grayscale,
liquid crystal display.

The
GPSMAP 232 is designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data
obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). GPSMAP 232 will
provide position accuracy to less than three meters when receiving WAAS corrections
and also accepts RTCM-104 differential corrections.
