The
dual frequency 238 Sounder combines chartplotter and sounder capabilities
in one unit which
installs easily in open cockpit and overhead boxes.
With
a built-in worldwide
basemap, the GPSMAP 238 Sounder will accept data cards programmed
with GARMIN BlueChart marine
cartography or data from most MapSourceT
CD-ROM products.
GPSMAP
238 Sounder is designed to provide precise GPS positioning using
correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System
(WAAS). GPSMAP 238 Sounder will provide position accuracy to less
than three meters when receiving WAAS corrections and also accepts
RTCM-104 differential corrections.

NOTE:
A transducer is required for operation of the GPSMAP 238 Sounder.
A plastic, transom mount transducer with depth and temperature
and a separate speed sensor is supplied with 010-00250-11. If
you wish to use another type of transducer you could purchase
the GPSMAP 238 Sounder without a transducer (010-00250-10) and
pair it with one of GARMIN's range of dual-frequency transducers.
