Garmin
GPSMap 530/ 530s
Discontinued and replaced with the Garmin GPSMAP 531/531s.
With
an easier-to-use interface and sleek new design, GPSMap 530
series pack more value for your navigation dollar. They feature
bright 5" QVGA color displays, preloaded U.S. inland lakes data,
worldwide satellite imagery and a streamlined user interface.
The 530-series comes preloaded with coast-to-coast cartography
for inland U.S. waters, of which over 5000 of these lakes
and navigable waters include invaluable details such as extra
resolution, depth contours, boat ramps, mile markers, hazards,
marinas, campgrounds, area roads, and more (contiguous 48 states
only).
Like all Garmin plotters, these utilize WAAS/EGNOS-enabled GPS
receivers for high accuracy (typically 3 metres). The combo "s"
models add a 500-watt (RMS) built-in sonar with split-screen capability,
to view map and sounder data simultaneously.
The built-in sounder on the 530s combo model can scan as deep
as 900 feet (with included dual beam transducer) to clearly paint
depth contours, fish targets, structure, etc.
The combo 530s also offers split-screen capability,
so you can view map and sounder data simultaneously. See real-time
weather displayed on the 530-series' high-resolution, sunlight
readable display with the purchase
of the GXM 31 antenna (sold separately) and subscription to
XM WX Satellite Weather. View vital weather data such as NEXRAD
radar, storm cells, wind speeds, surface temperatures, forecasts
and more than a dozen other weather attributes directly on the
unit's chart - so you can spend more time enjoying the water and
less time worrying about the weather.

g2 Vision
All the new Garmin chartplotters feature basic worldwide satellite
imagery for a realistic "view from space" depiction. With
optional g2 Vision cards, these images are upgraded to
super high-detail aerial photomapping. It's the most realistic
map you've ever seen on a graphical chartplotter. And you
can navigate 'on the picture' with a clear dynamic presentation
of your boat's current position.
Auto Guidance. The optional Auto Guidance technology,
unlocked via g2 Vision card, searches chart contents to suggest
the safest known charted route for navigation.
True 3D-view mapping. Garmin's newest chartplotters
wil graphically depict true 3D "mariner's eye" topside
view or "fish eye" underwater view navigation perspective
for tricky shoals, reefs, bridges, channels etc.
"Real
Picture" Photo Reference. Aerial photography gives
mariners a realistic visual overview of harbours, marinas,
waterways and other points of reference. The photos allow
a visual reference for nearby fuel pumps, dining spots, lodging
and shore-side facilities. Also included is City Navigator
North America NT road data for navigation up to five miles
inland. |
