Garmin
GPSMAP 76CSx
Discontinued. Replaced by the Garmin GPSMAP 78s >>

The
GPSMAP 76CSx is an upgrade of the GPSMAP
76CS, one of Garmin's most popular models for outdoor and
marine use. This unit features a removable microSD card for detailed
mapping memory and a waterproof, rugged housing. The microSD card
slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment. Users
can load map data and transfer routes and waypoints through the
unit's fast USB connection.
This unit features a new, highly sensitive GPS receiver
that acquires satellites faster and lets users track their location
in challenging conditions, such as heavy foliage or deep canyons.
The GPSMAP 76CSx also incorporates a barometric altimeter for
extremely accurate elevation data and an electronic compass that
displays an accurate heading while standing still.
The
GPSMAP 76Cx and GPSMAP 76CSx offer a large
colour TFT display and turn-by-turn routing capability. These
units also float when dropped in the water. Each unit comes with
a blank 128 MB microSD card.

Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx FAQ:
Q: "What are the main differences between the GPSMAP
76CSx and the GPSMAP 60CSx?"
A: "Included data card (the 76CSx includes
a 128MB microSD data card, the 60CSx includes a 64MB card);
physical size, weight and shape; floatability (the 76CSx will float; the 60CSx will not)."
Q: I have a GPSMAP 76c, if I buy a GPSMAP 76csx can I transfer my TOPO Canada and Bluechart maps to my new unit?
A: From Garmin: The TOPO mapping you have will be able to be used on any unit as those maps are not locked. The Bluecharts are a different program. This is a locked program. With the purchase of the Bluecharts software, you can unlock your region to two units for no additional cost. As long as you have only unlocked your maps to the 76c, you will be able to unlock your maps to a second unit free. If you do purchase the new unit, you can email Garmin the serial number from the new unit and they can help you get the maps unlocked for your second unit. |
