Portable
GPS Navigation with your PDA
(and laptop with the included CF to PCMCIA
adapter!)
.
BC-307 has a built in active antenna and works
directly with Windows CE & Pocket PC compatible PDA'S with a Type
1 or Type 2 compact flash slot.
. A CF to PCMCIA adapter also allows use with a laptop (Windows
98 or higher).
. BC-307 supports NMEA protocol, which makes it compatible with
most popular mapping software (not included) to display your position
in real time as you travel.
. The external GPS antenna plugs into the side of the BC-307 (MMCX
connector) to provide convenience of GPS positioning. The 18 ft
long cable and magnet built in to the base allow ease of antenna
mounting.
. BC-307is WAAS enabled to provide position assuracy within 3
meters when receiving valid WAAS signals for your location.
.
Rapid satellite acquisition: Hot start 8 sec average; warm start
48 sec average; cold start 48 sec average (PDA CF slot use, slightly
longer with use through PCMCIA slot)
Software
You can choose your own software to use with BC-307, which will
provide position, velocity and time data to your own development
software as well as to many commercially available applications.
. Automobile: For example, use the BC-307 with street mapping
software such as iGuidance for low-cost
real time positioning whilst driving in Canada and the U.S.
. Marine: BC-307 can be used with marine charts (Digital
Ocean products)
. Outdoors: For the ultimate in portable field use, consider
the combination of a PDA, BC-307 and either your own or commercial
mapping software! For example, OziExplorer
, Memory Map
or Fugawi will display
your location on digital topographic maps (such as those supplied
by Spectrum Digital Imaging),
your own scanned maps, or even on aerial photos or NASA
Satellite Images! (OziExplorer Development Version required.)
