Iridium GO! exec FAQs:
Q: Am I able to browse any website?
A: Yes. To browse the web, it is recommended you use the “Browsing” profile when connecting via the “Connection Manager.” This will ensure that only web traffic is passed through the Exec. A website will take 1 – 2 minutes to load due to the large size of modern websites. This makes the solution suitable for occasionally checking websites, but it is not recommended for heavy browsing needs such as working through a remote CRM.
Q: Can I access Gmail through the Web sign in to check and send and receive email?
A: Technically you can check Gmail through the web, but it is highly recommended to use the Gmail app instead. This will cut down on all of the interface loading that is done on the web. For further performance benefit and lower data costs, it is recommended to use the OneMail app from OCENS. OneMail only downloads headers and allows the user to select which emails they want to download, making the experience faster.
Q: Can I send and receive email using my regular email program on my iPhone using the Gmail app?
A: Yes. Apple Mail, Gmail, Outlook, and others will work fine for sending email. Receiving email may be slower if you receive a large volume of email on your account. As mentioned on the above point, OneMail would optimize the experience, but its not a must.
Q: Since there is Internet connectivity, can I use my iMessage on my iPhone to text other iPhone users?
A: Yes. Messaging apps are the primary use case for the GO! Exec, so iMessage, Slack, WhatsApp, Teams chat, and Slack will all work well for messaging. Video calls will not work however due to the low bandwidth provided.
