Garmin GPSMAP 531/ 531s Chartplotters

Discontinued. Replaced by the GPSMAP 547 and 547xs >>

The Garmin GPSMAP 531 is a compact chartplotter that features an ultra-bright 5” QVGA colour display along with an improved high-speed digital design for increased map drawing and panning speeds. It’s ready to go with a built-in, satellite-enhanced basemap preloaded with U.S. Inland Lakes and an easy-to-use interface designed to help you navigate the open waters with ease. The Garmin GPSMAP 531 also accepts BlueChart g2 Vision cards for added features and functionality such as high-resolution satellite imagery, 3D views and Auto Guidance technology.

Navigate the Lake

The Garmin GPSMAP 531 comes ready to go with preloaded U.S. Inland Lake map data. For areas outside the U.S., the Garmin GPSMAP 531 has a worldwide basemap with satellite images in place of more traditional maps. The GPSMAP 531 also comes standard with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for superior satellite tracking and quicker acquisition times. And with an SD card slot, it’s easy to add additional maps without connecting to a computer.

Add Sonar

Where applicable, the sounder version, GPSMAP 531s, comes with a powerful dual-beam transducer that clearly illustrates depth contours, fish targets and structures whether you’re fishing in freshwater or off the coast. The GPSMAP 531 and GPSMAP 531s are also NMEA 0183 certified for easy connectivity with sensors, instruments and future marine offerings.

Add Extras with Inland Lakes Vision

With the optional Garmin Inland Lakes SD card, you can add a whole new dimension of exceptional features to your chartplotter.

  • 3D Mariner’s and Fish Eye view provides you with a 3-dimensional perspective of map information, both above and below the waterline
  • High-resolution satellite images and aerial photographs help you orient yourself in unfamiliar areas
  • Auto Guidance technology searches through all relevant charts to create a route you can actually follow — one that avoids obstacles, shallow water, buoys and other obstructions

garmin g2 visionBlueChart g2 Vision
All the new Garmin chartplotters feature basic worldwide satellite imagery for a realistic "view from space" depiction. With optional g2 Vision cards, these images are upgraded to super high-detail aerial photomapping. It's the most realistic map you've ever seen on a graphical chartplotter. And you can navigate 'on the picture' with a clear dynamic presentation of your boat's current position.

Auto Guidance. The optional Auto Guidance technology, unlocked via g2 Vision card, searches chart contents to suggest the safest known charted route for navigation.

True 3D-view mapping. Garmin's newest chartplotters wil graphically depict true 3D "mariner's eye" topside view or "fish eye" underwater view navigation perspective for tricky shoals, reefs, bridges, channels etc.

"Real Picture" Photo Reference. Aerial photography gives mariners a realistic visual overview of harbours, marinas, waterways and other points of reference. The photos allow a visual reference for nearby fuel pumps, dining spots, lodging and shore-side facilities. Also included is City Navigator North America NT road data for navigation up to five miles inland.
